The Robber and the Three Houses Based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears Fractured Fairytale By Amanda Tucker
Reflection:
When I first heard that we were going to be doing a wiki and voice thread I was a little nervous. I am not a huge fan of technology and therefore I was a little worried to start this process, but after looking over the directions and playing around with it I saw that it was very easy to work with, and something that I could definitely use in the near future with my class. I enjoyed recording the voice thread and getting creative with the pictures and other items that were included in this project. Overall I would use these different sites again. The process was exciting and something I would love to show to my future students. Not only would this process be new and exciting to my future students, but it would also expose them to new types of technology that are fun and educational for all subjects. This process could be used in multiple different areas for all students to enjoy making and editing for a final product.
Standards and Objectives:
W.3.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences. a. Organize information and ideas around a topic to plan and prepare to write. b. Establish a situation and introduce a narrator and/or characters; organize an event sequence that unfolds naturally. c. Use dialogue and descriptions of actions, thoughts, and feelings to develop experiences and events or show the response of characters to situations. d. Use temporal transition words and phrases to signal event order. e. Provide a sense of closure. f. With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by revising and editing, with consideration to task and purpose
After reading Ms. Tuckers fairytale I hope you’ve gotten some new ideas because now it’s YOUR turn to fracture a fairytale!
1 2 3 Let’s Fracture a Fairytale Boys and Girls!
Your task is to choose your favorite fairytale (from the list I have provided in class) and fracture it. As we have been discussing in class you will need to change two to three elements of your fairytale in order to fracture it. This could include changing the character’s names, the setting or even the perspective of the story. Have fun and be silly! Be sure to:
fill out your graphic organizer with the fairytale you chose (3 parts-beginning, middle and end)
include detail in your story and be creative
include sensory details and dialogue
trade off with a partner and proofread- getting ready for your final draft.
